Mediocre June at the club

I got back to my club this month for the first time since January. It was a fairly erratic, mediocre performance for me. Last night I just barely saved a half-point against someone rated almost 300 points lower. Last week I worked extra hard to turn a clearly winning position into a loss against someone rated 150 points higher. Overall I got 1.5 points out of 4. Not a total disaster, but enough to drop 30 USCF ratings points.

I’ll guess take the optimistic view—I was just getting the rust out of my system before heading off this weekend to play in the World Open!

    Hey Steve,
First off, nice blog! Thanks for the service, especially the ChessImager application. I have a couple of questions. Is there a way you can email me that way I write all the questions here? (I am sorry if I missed the “contact me” link somewhere here. Thanks!
