Good game results since July
Since the beginning of July I’ve had good results in “slow” games, both in OTB tournament play and in turn-based play on GameKnot.
In OTB play I’ve had 7 wins, a draw, and 2 losses during that period, and these results pushed my rating up about a hundred points to around USCF 1570.
On GameKnot, I started two tournament rounds in July, six games each, plus a challenge game against a friend from work. One of my GameKnot tournament opponents defaulted on our two games, so that makes a total of 11 real games played. With the last of those games finishing up today, I have 9 wins and 2 draws. My GameKnot rating is now in the upper 1600s, although I have no idea how this corresponds to USCF rating levels.
I had to stop playing in my club this fall because of a temporary conflict with my wife’s grad school schedule, so for the last couple of months the GameKnot games have had to suffice. Next month I may play in a local Sunday 4-round swiss, and in December I should be able to get back to my club.
